Nick Tsergas is a Canadian researcher, investigative journalist, and public-interest technologist whose work spans public policy, health systems, civic-tech, and investigative work.
He founded Canada Healthwatch in 2023 and served as its founding editor through 2026.
Nick is also the creator of Radar, a news intelligence platform that uses machine learning to help journalists, researchers, policymakers, and the public accurately parse fast-moving information environments. His work focuses on the design of public-interest information architecture, combining journalism, software engineering, data analysis, and policy research.
He was a Journalism and Health Impact Fellow at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health (University of Toronto). His writing has appeared in the BMJ, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and Canadian Affairs, and he is a regular commentator on radio and podcasts.
His work ranks in the top 1% of research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric.
