Nick Tsergas is a Canadian researcher and public-interest technologist whose work spans investigations, science journalism, public policy, health systems, and civic-tech.
He founded Canada Healthwatch in 2023 and served as its founding editor through 2026.
Nick is the creator of Radar, a news platform that uses machine learning to preserve deep archival links between news stories across time. His software work focuses on the design of novel information architectures, combining his background in science journalism, software engineering, and policy research. He founded Stop the Datacentre in 2026 and is a director of the Canadian Civic Infrastructure Alliance.
He was a Journalism and Health Impact Fellow at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. His writing has appeared in the BMJ, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and Canadian Affairs and he is a regular commentator on radio and podcasts.
His work ranks in the top 1% of research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric.
